Unique Handmade Holiday Gifts From New Mexico

A Curated Collection from Christopher Thomson Ironworks

Hand forged Christmas gifts
Holiday sculpture gifts collection

This holiday season, more people are choosing to shop with intention. From November 25 to December 2, the Economic Blackout encourages a pause from the usual Black Friday rush and invites shoppers to support small businesses, local artists, and independent makers instead of large corporations.

For us here in San Jose, New Mexico, this movement aligns deeply with what we believe: gifts carry more meaning when they’re shaped by hand, rooted in community, and created by real people who love what they do.

Why Handmade Gifts Matter This Season

Handmade pieces offer something impossible to replicate through mass production. Each sculpture, wall piece, candleholder, or tool that leaves our forge is shaped through heat, rhythm, and decades of skill. When you choose handmade, you’re not only giving a beautiful piece — you’re supporting a small studio, traditional craft, and the culture of New Mexico’s rich artistic landscape.

Our Curated Holiday Gift Collection

Introducing

To celebrate the season, we’ve assembled a special collection of hand forged art and functional pieces perfect for holiday giving. This curated selection includes:

  • small tabletop sculptures in festive hues
  • wall art that adds movement and brightness
  • forged candleholders for winter tables
  • durable wrought iron fireplace tools
  • hand forged home accents designed to last a lifetime

Each piece is crafted in our studio using traditional blacksmithing techniques — heated, hammered, and formed by hand from solid steel.

Below is a selection of pieces featured in our Holiday Gift Collection:

Order by December 8 for Holiday Delivery

Because every piece is handcrafted and shipped from our New Mexico studio, we encourage shoppers to place holiday orders early.

Thank You for Supporting Local and Handmade Art

Supporting a small business doesn’t just sustain our studio — it supports the people, stories, and traditions that shape our work. We’re grateful for your choice to shop local, uplift independent artists, and bring hand-forged beauty into your home this season.
